This country's love affair with traditional crafts is championed by Kirstie Allsopp with her tv series exploring a rewarding world where people make things by hand.
At the County Show visitors can discover and celebrate many of the things that are made in the county and meet the artisans who are happy to encourage others to learn and develop those skills, too.
Devon Home Crafts are located in the West Country Crafts.
Here there are lacemakers, quilters, spinners, dyers and weavers all showing the joy of making something from scratch.
The Devon Lace Teachers always enjoy having an opportunity to display at the Devon County Show some of the beautiful lace that has been made, both in Devon and further afield.
Lace making in Devon became one of the largest forms of employment in the county until the mid 19th Century, the lace was highly prized and commanded large sums of money, but not for the lace makers!
The display encompasses both antique and modern lace, looking back on how lace was incorporated in Royal dress and protocol, and forward to show how lace making has kept pace with our modern world.
As always there will be an opportunity for visitors to have a go at lace making themselves, with members of the Devon Lace Teachers on hand to give information and advice.
