Our competition recognises the exciting and innovative management taking place in many of Devon’s woodlands.
Woodland is hugely important to the county - more than 11 per cent of the land, or around 77,000 hectares, is wooded, and about 88 per cent is in private ownership.
These areas produce timber and game as well as being significant in terms of conservation and biodiversity. Recreational access is also becoming increasingly important.
Awards may be made to the Gold, Silver and Bronze placed exhibits in each class; Gold, Silver and Bronze competitors will receive £30, £20 and £15 respectively and each winner will receive two tickets to the 2017 Devon County Show.
Applications for this year's competitions have closed. Judging takes place between February and April.
