Groups & parties urged to get on board for the Show
6th February 2008"Get on board" is the message from the organisers of Devon County Show in the run up to the three-day rural life extravaganza in May 2008.
The giant showcase for food and farming just outside Exeter looks forward to welcoming coach parties and groups and is offering a package of special terms for those who book ahead.
Show Secretary Ollie Allen said the Show offered visitors “a spectacular virtual tour of the riches of Devon’s wonderful countryside”.
“We’re offering a great day out for visitors of all ages,” she said. “There’ll be magnificent animals, scrumptious food and drink, glorious flowers and gardens and a wonderful opportunity to taste, try and buy the very best of what Devon can produce.”
“And don’t forget great big ring entertainment with all the thrills and spills of stunt motorcyclists amongst others!”
The Show is looking forward to welcoming tens of thousands of guests - including HRH The Duchess of Cornwall. The Duchess is this year’s Show President and enjoyed a very successful visit three years ago with HRH The Prince of Wales, who is also the Show’s Patron.
Special terms for coach parties and groups include:
- Buy 10 tickets and get one free (book in advance)
- Dedicated drop off point for coaches
- Coach driver gets free entrance ticket (book in advance)
- Designated coach park
- Special senior citizens (60+) offer - buy one, get one free (for the first 2,008 applicants)
· Adult group ticket prices are £13.00, senior citizens £11.00 and children £4.50 and one free ticket is issued for every group of 10 purchased.
The Show is held on May 15, 16 and 17 and is situated near Exeter, just one mile from M5 Junction 30.
