Search launched for long serving rural workers
3rd December 2007The Devon County Agricultural Association (DCAA) would like to honour the men and women who have clocked up more than 30 years in agriculture, horticulture or forestry at next year’s Devon County Show.
The DCAA is calling on employers to nominate any member of their staff who has been employed for three decades or more and put them in line for a cash award or a trophy.
The awards ceremony at the Devon County Show is a wonderful ‘thank you’ from the farm or company to the employee who has completed a pre-determined number of years, anywhere from 30 through to 50 years.
The Council of the Devon County Agricultural Association offers a Certificate and Souvenir Trophy to an employee who has completed over 30 years service in agriculture, horticulture or forestry.
All employees who have completed 30 years of service will receive a certificate and trophy at the 2008 Devon County Show. Cash awards of £50, £30 and £20 will be made to employees who have completed the longest length of service by the closing date of March 14, 2008.
Recipients of a certificate or trophy awarded in previous years are not eligible for another but may enter for the cash awards, providing they have not received such an award previously.
This year two Devon men were honoured at the Devon County Show for their work in agriculture, horticulture and forestry totalling more than 67 years.
