Torquay gallery press release: First time at County Show
06 May 2011
Fiona and Paul Haddon have been successfully trading in Torquay as Haddon Galleries for 10 years selling Fine Art originals and signed limited edition prints by some of the country’s leading artists. Four years ago they launched a publishing company, Haddon Fine Art Editions, producing signed limited edition prints. They have gone from strength to strength with more than 70 galleries now selling their prints across the country as far as Dundee to Eastbourne. Prints have also been sold as far away as Japan.
Ninety per cent of Haddon Fine Art Editions artists are based in the South West, with Richard Thorn, Ian Nathan, Pippa Thew, John Skinner, Theresa Shaw, Steve Burgess and Anne Farrall Doyle all living in Devon.
Fiona said: “Initially we began our publishing company with the broad aim of signing the country’s top artists and amongst others, secured Kay Boyce and Tony Smith. However we soon realised there was a wealth of talent here on our doorstep in the South West and now enjoy promoting the Cream of Devon.”
One of the world’s leading wildlife artists, Steve Burgess, lives in Devon and signed with Haddon Fine Art Editions in February. Steve's work can be found in the collections of the Imperial War Museum, ex US President Bill Clinton, TV personality Monty Halls and the Chairman of Qatar Airlines.
Fiona added: “Our latest success story is local young Torquay artist Annie Drew, we are selling her prints well throughout the country and look forward to her new prints hitting the country by storm. At her first exhibition in November 2009 her originals cost about £500; her latest painting, Lionheart, sold for £1995. Lionheart has now been released as a signed print. Her bestselling image is a close up of a fox.”
Despite the success of our publishing company, Paul and Fiona spend most of their time at their Torquay gallery. Fiona is a director of the highly respected Fine Art Trade Guild and Paul is a qualified GCF framer - giving you the confidence that they are experts in their field. They pride themselves on offering a friendly, personal and knowledgeable service.
“We can’t wait to be at the Devon County Show for the first time and hope to see many customers both old and new.”
