You are invited to the biggest Royal wedding party in Devon, probably!
We will be throwing a huge Royal wedding party to celebrate the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on the Saturday of the Show (May 19).
In the Watering Hole – the new undercover area where you can enjoy street food and live music – we are installing giant TV screens to show live coverage from Windsor.
There will be a mass confetti throw as the happy couple leave St George’s Chapel - it will almost feel as if we are really there, in Windsor, sharing in the wonderful, happy atmosphere.
There will be a headgear competition in the Watering Hole and one lucky person will win a bottle of champagne.
There will be two wedding trees – one in the Crafts and Gardens feature and the other in the BBC marquee. Visitors will be able to write their good wishes on leaves to hang on the trees. After the Show, the messages will be transcribed into a book and sent to the Royal couple together with a Devon tree sapling.
And there will be lots of bunting! BBC Devon has asked its listeners to make pennants to help them deck their marquee. It’s sure to look wonderful!
