Get ready for a fun-packed day!
Want to experience the sights, smells and sounds of a farm? To discover the world underneath the sea around Devon’s coastlines? Crush apples and drink a glass of fresh juice? Take a ride on a million pound Ferris wheel? You can do all of this at the Devon County Show, which offers families a uniquely fun-filled and packed day out at the county’s largest annual event.
Inside huge pavilions and marques, and in grassy show rings, rural life in Devon will come alive; children can visit Farm Wise and learn about where their food comes from; they can dive into the world beneath the sea and learn all about marine conservation in the new Ocean Discovery Zone; they can hold their breath as the Monster Trucks set about using their size and strength to crush vehicles; and they can take part in competitions.
From watching Zorb football to climbing into an Army tank, getting up close to amazing animals including big bulls, shaggy sheep, shiny pigs, bleating goats, adorable alpacas, perfect ponies, proud pigeons and poultry, seeing the pick of pedigree dogs, taking a fairground ride, spotting the queen honeybee and making a beeswax candle. Children are invited to take part in activities at the Show, including painting a stone, entering their pet guinea pig or rabbit or going around the Show ‘Wheelie Wild’ trail. Show organisers advise families ‘to come early and be prepared to stay late!’
